For the first time in over a week, today, which happens to be my 39th birthday, I finally got in a decent cross training workout. It was a stiff 45 minute stationary bike ride that got owned. It's nice to be pretty much back in the saddle and resuming full-bore workouts.
I was thinking back on the last two years since I've started running. When I was 37 I ran my first 5K race. When I was 38 I ran my first half marathon (and second and third) and my first marathon. What am I going to do as a running first at 39? I have no idea, but I can promise it won't have the word "ultra" or the prefix "tri" in its name.
E-mails were sent out to last year's participants of the inaugural Baltimore 10 miler offering them the chance to register early for this year's event before the official registration period starts this Friday. Because I'm a sucker for inclusion I signed up. So by the end of June I'll have run in at least two half marathons and two 10 milers. I'm going to be looking for some fun 5Ks to sprinkle in there too. It should be a pretty cool spring.
Happy Birthday!! Hope it was a great one!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Running Moron,
ReplyDeleteI found your blog on the funny running blog carnival. You seem to be two years into what I am attempting to do having just started 2 weeks ago. FInding the blog is keeping me focused. My blog is pocabella.wordpress.com should you care to check it out. HAppy running!
Pocabella
Bre: Thanks! It was a pretty great one.
ReplyDeletePocabella: Thanks for checking my blog out. The big difference between you and I is that when I started running I just ran and saw where it took me. You've started with a goal in mind. That just means you're about a year smarter than me.
I will keep tabs on your progress and chime in if I can help. I hope you'll do the same.
Hope you had a great b-day.
ReplyDeleteAt least you didn't say Never. I learned the hard way to Never say never.
