Bump on the road to Goalville

Today will mark my last run in the month of February. I am scheduled for a 7 miler, which I'll do on a treadmill at the gym. That'll leave me at about 97 miles for the month. My goal is make it to 1,001 for the year, and while I only need to run an average of 83.5 miles a month to get there I like running 100 so I can bank miles for the summer months when it's going to be really hot and humid and I won't be in training for anything so my miles might dip under 80 for a while. (EDIT: Now that's a run-on sentence right there.) Then again they may not. Who knows. I just want to be prepared.

The culprit for my shortcoming isn't the effort I've made this month. It's the short month. If February had 30 days like a normal month I'd be able to count Sunday's 10 miler and I'd be pretty much right on par with the 107+ miles I put in during January. But then I can't bag on February too hard since it's my birth month. And, while I'm not banking 20+ miles for the month toward my goal for the year I am banking 13 or 14.

Wait, what was I whining about again? Never mind.
